Mexico's massive Popocatepetl sends out columns of smoke and ash

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Mexico's majestic Popocatepetl volcano on Friday spewed out plumes of smoke and gas high into the sky, forcing flight cancellations at Mexico City's bustling international airport. Active for more than a year, the latest analysis from Mexico's National Disaster Prevention Center reported tremors and columns of ash and vapor over the last 24 hours at Popocatepetl. With Popocatepetl just 40 miles or 65 kilometer from Mexico City's bustling international airport, heavy smoke and ash clouds has caused chaos in the capital's skies with airlines temporarily suspending flights from American Airlines, U.S. Airways and Delta Airlines earlier this week. On Friday most airlines resumed normal flight operations but Alaska Airlines canceled flights in and out of the Mexican capital.
