Granddaughter says Mandela is "stable"

Nelson Mandela remains in critical condition in hospital on Thursday, though family members described him as "stable". Granddaughter Ndileka, surrounded by dozens of camera crews outside the Pretoria hospital, also expressed thanks for messages of support. (SOUNDBITE) (English) NDILEKA MANDELA, RESPONDING TO QUESTION ABOUT HER GRANDFATHER, NELSON, SAYING; "He's stable. He's in a stable condition. We are quite anxious, but we thank everyone for their support." Earlier, a presidential spokesman said Mandela was still critical, forcing President Zuma to abandon a planned trip to Mozambique.
