Breathtaking video shows Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano fuming

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Mexico's Navy released breathtaking aerial video footage of Popocatepetl volcano on Tuesday fuming after shooting a column of smoke and ash 4,921 feet or 1500 meters high into the sky. The stunning shots were taken of the volcano's crater on a clear day. Over the last few hours, 68 individual low eruptions were reported, accompanied by small amounts of ash, Mexico's National Center for Disaster Prevention reported. The volcano is on yellow phase two alert, the second-highest warning on the center's seven-step scale. With up to 50,000 residents across 24 towns at risk from volcanic gases and lava flow, authorities are keeping a close watch over a rumbling Popocatepetl. The 17,900-foot or 5,450-meter volcano, whose name means "smoking mountain" in the Nahuatl Indian language, lies just 40 miles or 64 kilometers southeast of Mexico City and its 18 million residents.
