Canada flood chaos

The floods that are swamping the Canadian province of Alberta have claimed at least three lives. More than 100, 000 people have been forced to leave their homes. The floods followed 36 hours of unusually heavy rain that pushed the volume of water in rivers to record levels. Some areas got six months of their normal rainfall in less than two days. People are being warned to stay clear of some areas. (SOUNDBITE)(English) RON ROBINSON, DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES, SAYING: "Residents are advised to remain away from bridges, waterways, banks and evacuated areas for their own safety. Rescue from the river may not be possible at this time." Even when the flood waters recede Alberta's troubles won't be completely over. Authorities in Calgary, Canada's oil capital, say power cuts could go on for weeks or even months afterwards.
