Tear gas fired near Brazil soccer stadium

As soccer teams from Japan and Mexico played in the Confederations Cup in Belo Horizonte, riot police fired tear gas at protesters after they overstepped a perimeter and moved toward the stadium. The game proceeded without further incidents. Police fired tear gas at protesters holding banners reading 'FIFA out!' Brazil is hosting an international soccer tournament and is preparing to host the World Cup but many of the protesters are angry saying money is being spent on sport rather than Brazilians. One of the policemen at the protest was hurt by a stone and a Lieutenant lashed out at the demonstrators accusing them of sparking the violence.
