Deadly restaurant blast in China

A fire was first reported at the restaurant, which occupied two stories in an office building in Shuozhou city of Shanxi province on Wednesday (June 19) night local time. While fire-fighters battled put out the fire the explosion occurred, reducing the building to piles of debris and scattering windows of nearby buildings, according to state-run Xinhua news agency. Three fire trucks and dozens of vehicles parked nearby were damaged, and 13 fire-fighters were among the injured, state television CCTV said. Of the 149 injured, 19 people were in critical condition, it added. CCTV said preliminary investigations suggested natural gas pipes exploded after the fire at the restaurant, which was still in trial operation
