Russia ammo base blasts

PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS CONVERTED 4:3 MATERIAL A series of explosions at a Russian army ammunition store has forced thousands to flee their homes. Footage from a social media website which can't be independently verified by Reuters appears to capture the scene. Russia's Emergency Ministry said there were initially four explosions at the base in Chapayevsk on Tuesday evening. It said there was a fire which caused more explosions later. The ministry said about 11 million pieces of ammunition were stored at the site. It said 30 people have sought medical help...four of them needed hospital treatment. About 6, 000 people have been evacuated from the area in the south-western Samara region. Officials said it wasn't immediately clear what caused the explosions.
