Greeks strike over ERT closure

Greeks show their solidarity with shuttered public broadcaster ERT. On Wednesday, thousands braved wet weather to attend a concert at the organization's headquarters in Athens. They are protesting the government's sudden decision to close ERT a day before, effectively putting 2,600 employees out of work. The move has sparked outrage among journalists, unions and politicians. (SOUNDBITE)(English) JOURNALIST MANOLIS KYPRAIOU, 45, SAYING: "The prime minister said a few minutes ago we have a total war with the press. This is hardline political thinking." Officials claimed ERT was rife with waste, unnecessary spending and corruption, allegations that are fuelling further anger.
