Philippines hero dog heads home

PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS CONVERTED 4:3 MATERIAL Kabang the hero dog from the Philippines is back in her hometown of Zamboanga City, welcomed by the mayor and a motorcade with yellow balloons. Kabang has earned world-wide recognition after losing half her face while saving two girls from getting hit by a motorcycle. Thousands world-wide sent in donations so she could be brought to the U.S. for surgery. Twelve-year-old Dina Bunggal is one of the girls Kabang saved. Her family found Kabang in a swampy area when she was still a puppy. (SOUNDBITE) (Filipino) 12-YEAR-OLD WHO WAS SAVED BY KABANG, DINA BUNGGAL, SAYING: "Kabang is a unique dog. Without her, perhaps I wouldn't be alive now. I'm really grateful to her." As the mixed breed returns to life as a normal pet, her vet is concerned that her living conditions may not be ideal.
