Andrea pummels parts of Cuba, Florida

EDIT CONTAINS 4;3 MATERIAL Tropical Storm Andrea tore through the Caribbean and into the Gulf of Mexico Thursday leaving parts of Cuba and the southern U.S. drenched in rain. In Cuba, hundreds of people evacuated their homes after heavy rains left buildings and farmland underwater. Later, that same storm system moved north, pounding western Florida. Streets in Tampa were closed as water poured onto the pavement. Meteorologists say the storm will continue moving north hugging the eastern shoreline bringing heavy rains and gale force winds to Georgia and South and North Carolina. Andrea is the first tropical storm of the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season.
