Swift, Bieber take Billboard honors; Timberlake hits Cannes

The Billboard Music Awards were held in Las Vegas on Sunday (May 19) and Taylor Swift won the night's biggest honor - artist of the year. Taking to the stage, the singer thanked her fans for their loyalty. Other highlights of the night included Justin Bieber receiving a mix of cheers and boos as he accepted the award for best male artist and Madonna - decked out in fishnet stockings and garters - was honored with an award as the top touring artist for her 2012 "MDNA Tour." The night wasn't all fun and games, however. R&B singer Miguel attempted a stunt during his performance, jumping over a pit of fans and landing on a woman. The woman was struck by his leg and then hit the stage, but Miguel tweeted later that he met with her backstage and she was doing fine. The Cannes film festival continued its run with Justin Timberlake hitting the red carpet. The singer-turned-actor joined Carey Mulligan and directing duo the Coen brothers for their film, "Inside Llewyn Davis
