Video purports to show Syrian rebel biting organ of dead soldier

***GRAPHIC IMAGES*** New images from the Syrian battlefield seem to suggest a level of gruesomeness far beyond what some of the country's fiercest critics could have imagined. The video, posted to the internet purports to show a rebel commander cutting into the torso of a dead soldier and taking a bite of one of his organs. Reuters cannot independently verify the content of the video which was posted to a social media website. Tamara Alrifa of Human Rights Watch has identified the commander as Abu Saffar, founder of the Farouq brigade. SOUNDBITE: Tamara Alrifa of Human Rights Watch saying: And the reasons we're sure this is him is that we've compared this footage to other footage we've had, and we managed to recognize some of his clothes, but also a ring that he's wearing and the scar under his left eye, so we're in no doubt about the person.
