Polls open in Pakistn

Voters walk into a polling place in Karachi, Pakistan in the country's historic general elections Saturday morning. At stake - the country's first ever transition between civilian governments after years of military rule. The campaigns leading up to this day have been marred with violence -- at least 100 have been killed by the Pakistani Taliban who see the elections as un-Islamic. Security has been increased in hotspots like Karachi where the threats of violence are very real in the minds of the voters. I will definitely cast my vote, this man says, for the betterment of Pakistan's upcoming generations. Pakistan's feeble economy, widespread corruption and crumbling infrastructure could prompt thousands of voters to risk their own lives for change.
