Chilean cult leader found dead in Peru

Ramon Castillo, the leader of a doomsday sect, was accused of throwing a three-day-old baby girl - possibly his daughter - into a bonfire in Chile, believing she was the Antichrist, regional media reported. He then fled to Peru, where his body was found hanging in an abandoned house in the historic city of Cusco. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) CUSCO POLICE GENERAL, JAVIER AVALOS, SAYING: "Apparently he has committed suicide. By the fingerprints sent by Chilean Interpol to Peru's Interpol, the identities match." Chilean police said four sect members were in custody over the infant's death, including the baby's mother. Castillo is thought to have formed the 12-member sect in 2005. Police say Castillo may possibly have been trying to organise another sect after fleeing to Peru.
