Leno to pass "Tonight Show" torch to Fallon

"Late Night" talk show host Jimmy Fallon will assume one of the most visible positions in U.S. television next year as the new host of the "Tonight Show," succeeding Jay Leno who held the job for more than two decades. Leno will wrap up 22 years of headlining in spring 2014 and Fallon will take over the job after Leno ends his run. NBC said it will also move the show from Burbank, CA to New York, where it began in 1954. Leno was briefly replaced by Conan O'Brien in 2009 in what turned into a public relations debacle for the network, only to return a few months later. NBC also said "Saturday Night Live" and "30 Rock" producer Lorne Michaels would executive produce the relocated show, which would be broadcast from NBC's headquarters in New York's Rockefeller Center. NBC has not revealed who will be taking over the 12:35 a.m. time slot currently filled by Fallon's show.Auteur: reutersTags: and handing torch off Jay leaving Fallon after Leno hosting Gepost: 04 april 2013Beoordeling: 0.0Stemmen: 0]]>
