Argentina's Fernandez pans Falklands referendum

Residents of the Falkland Islands celebrate as the results of Monday's referendum are announced. Ninety-nine point eight percent of islanders voted in favour of remaining a British Overseas Territory, with only three "no" votes out of about 1,500 cast. But Argentine President Cristina Fernandez is speaking out against the vote, which was aimed at countering Argentina's increasingly assertive claim over the South Atlantic archipelago. She said the vote in no way changes Argentina's official position on the Malvinas, as the islands are known in Spanish - and emphasized the need for dialogue.
