Sea Sheherd releases dramatic new video

(ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION) The Australian environmental campaign group Sea Shepherd said video released on Tuesday (February 26) showed that a collision involving the Japanese whaling fleet and their vessel, the Bob Barker, was not their fault. Sea Shepherd says the video, shot on Monday (February 25), shows their ship being squeezed and buffeted between the Japanese whaling factory ship, the Nisshin Maru, and the fleet's oil tanker, Sun Laurel. Sea Shepherd said water cannons rained down on the Bob Barker and it was smashed between the much bigger ships as it tried to stop the factory ship from refuelling. The environmentalists said concussion grenades were exploded over the Bob Barker and the oil tanker during the incident. Japanese whalers released video and photographs of the incident on Monday (February 25) which they said show the Bob Barker ramming their vessel. Sea Shepherd says the Japanese fleet is breaking Australian and international law by whaling in a whale sanctuary and by taking heavy fuel oil into protected Antarctic waters.
