Fugitive cop believed killed in fire after shootout

The charred cabin where a massive manhunt ended in gunfire and flames. The morning after the deadly shootout, Los Angeles authorities say they are working to confirm that the remains found inside the cabin belong to the fugitive former police officer at the center of a week-long manhunt. Officers tracked Christopher Dornan to the cabin near a California ski resort on Tuesday, pumping in tear gas and calling for him to surrender. What followed was gunfire. Lieutenant Andrew Neiman of the Los Angeles Police. SOUNDBITE: Lieutenant Andrew Neiman, Los Angeles Police Department media relations saying: "There's a lot of apprehension today in any kind of celebration because this really is not a celebration. This has been a very trying time over the last couple of weeks, for all those involved. I'd just like to express our deepest sympathy from our department, our heart and prayers go out to those family and friends of those deputies who were injured and the deputy that was killed yesterday." Dornan is suspected in the deaths of four people.
