Depardieu arrives in Montenegro to discuss setting up a film festival

ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION French film star Gerard Depardieu arrived in Montenegro on Tuesday (Jan 8) where he was expected to discuss the setting up of a film festival with Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and other key officials. It was Depardieu's first appearance in public after failing to show up in court to face drink driving charges. Prosecutors allege Depardieu crashed his scooter in Paris late last year while under the influence of alcohol. Depardieu has caused a storm in France after saying he was planning to move over the border to Belgium to escape the 75 percent tax rate on high incomes being introduced by Socialist President Francois Hollande. The furor was further stoked last week week when he accepted Russian citizenship from President Vladimir Putin.
