Sandy Hook students return to school

The children of Sandy Hook Elementary return to school on Thursday - almost three weeks after a gunman killed 20 students - and six adults at their Newtown, Connecticut school. The more than 400 surviving kindergartners through fourth graders arrived at what was Chalk Hill Middle School - about seven miles from Sandy Hook in the neighboring town of Monroe. The school has been transformed from a middle school - to an elementary school - and features a new security system - with armed guards on duty for the first day. Their belongings from their old classrooms have been brought to the new ones - and counseling will be on hand. As many anxious parents accompanied their children to the school - snowflakes and decorations welcomed them - sent by thousands of children from across the U.S.
