Ringing in 2013 from Hong Kong to Kabul

2013 kicks off in Hong Kong China. Fireworks light up Victoria harbor. Dubai marks the new year with a spectacular light show at the world's tallest building. Spectators take in an extravaganza of sound and fury to ring in the new year. In Italy, the Pope visits the nativity scene in St. Peters Square after assuring the faithful that there is still good in the world. In Myanmar, thousands attend the first public countdown of the new year. Public gatherings were banned in the country for years -- this year they celebrate in the streets. And in Kabul NATO troops take to the dance floor to mark 2013. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S CHAPLAIN, BUDDY WALKER; SAYING: "May 2013 be better than 2012 and special move on to a peace...happy new year."
