Opposition leaders arrested in Russia protest

ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION Russian police detained several opposition leaders, including blogger Alexei Navalny and leftist Sergei Udaltsov in central Moscow on Saturday (December 15) at an unsanctioned anti-Putin protest. Security was tight at Lubyanka Square in minus 17 degree Celcius temperatures where and estimated 500 protesters gathered, surrounded by police vans, and riot police, with a helicopter circling overhead. The rally, dubbed by organisers as a 'March of Millions', is intended to mark 12 months of protests against Putin that have included the biggest demonstrations against the former KGB spy since he rose to power 13 years ago but failed to prevent him winning a six-year third term as president in March.
