New Tunisia demo despite jobs vow

Tunisia's security forces fired tear gas and live rounds into the air in another day of unrest in Siliana. The protesters appear unimpressed by a government promise of jobs for all those injured or who lost family members in the uprising that brought it to power. The Islamist Ennadha-led government has been accused of using harsh policing in its efforts to put down the protests. One woman, brandishing a tear gas cannister, vented her fury. SOUNDBITE: UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN SAYING (Arabic): "This is in our houses. This is that paradise that the Ennahda party promised us. This is your paradise, people of Siliana. This is your paradise, Tunisian people. This is Ennadha's paradise." The government's reported to have formed an independent commission to investigate the unrest. Tunisia's president has also asked Prime Minister Hamedi Jebali to appoint a new cabinet in response to the protests over economic hardship. So far Jebali's rejected the protesters' calls for his resignation.
