Video shows Nigerian troops shooting captives

--THIS STORY CONTAINS GRAPHIC IMAGES-- Grisly images from Nigeria. Video obtained by Reuters appears to show Nigerian troops shooting unarmed captives in broad daylight the northeastern part of the country that has been the bastion of an Islamist insurgency. Nigeria's military has long been accused of human rights abuses in the troubled north. A Nigerian army spokesman who said he has not seen the video said the events must have been staged. He said, "How can they do that? It's not possible for Nigerian troops to act in this way." Boko Haram is fighting to carve out an Islamic state in Nigeria. Its fighters have killed hundreds in bomb and gun attacks since it launched an uprising three years ago. The video was taken by a soldier who said he was present while the shootings took place two weeks ago. The soldier said the killings followed a bomb attack on a military patrol.
