Demonstraters against high fuel in Jordan

Clashes broke out between loyalists and opposition groups on Friday night (November 16) as Amman was the scene of another protest against increased fuel prices. Tensions have been high in Jordan since the government announced an increase in fuel prices, sparking violent protests. Friday's violence broke out during a night-time protest when some groups loyal to King Abdullah arrived. They managed to force the opposition groups to flee the area, and chanted pro-king slogans. A protest earlier on Friday was peaceful, but some of the 2000 demonstrators and called for the removal of King Abdullah II, and the downfall of his regime.
