Charles and Camilla unveil Canberra street name

(ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION) A street in Canberra, Australia was renamed after Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on Saturday (November 10), in a ceremony attended by Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. The street is on the shore of Lake Burley Griffin and joins other streets by the lake that have been named after reigning monarchs. Hundreds of spectators turned out for the event, and Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard welcomed the royal couple to the ceremony. "Your Royal Highnesses, friends. This place will be a lasting tribute to Her Majesty the Queen, on the occasion of her diamond jubilee, inscribed forever in the architecture of our capital. It will remind future generations that for more than half our journey as a united nation, Elizabeth II has been our monarch," she said. Charles and Camilla removed the cover to reveal a new street sign, renaming the street Queen Elizabeth Terrace. As Charles greeted the crowd, one woman presented him with a packet of Australian Tim Tam biscuits, while wishing him a happy birthday next week. Charles and Camilla are due to fly to Auckland, New Zealand, later on Saturday, as part of their Pacific tour to mark the Queen's diamond jubilee.
