World Food Day 2012: the vital role of small farmers

On the occasion of World Food Day, the ICRC is highlighting the importance of small farmers for the survival of people affected by war. When the market stalls are empty, when prices put food out of reach, these smallholders take on a vital role. Around the world, the ICRC is helping local farmers feed themselves and the communities to which they belong.
