Rihanna tops nomination list at AMA's: Gaga honored.

R&B star Rihanna and rapper Nicki Minaj led nominations for the American Music Awards with four apiece on Tuesday, edging out stiff competition from pop sensations Justin Bieber and One Direction. Rihanna, 24, was nominated in the top category - artist of the year - where she will compete with Bieber, Katy Perry, pop-rockers Maroon 5 and Canadian rapper Drake. Minaj scored two nods for her album "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded." Bieber landed three nominations this year. The American Music Awards will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on November 18. The surviving members of British rock band Led Zeppelin and son of late drummer John Bonham arrived in New York on Tuesday (October 8) to talk to the press ahead of their U.S. premiere of their concert film "Celebration Day." The group reunited five years ago at London's O2 Arena to pay tribute to Ahmet Ertegun, the founder of Atlantic Records which signed Led Zeppelin in 1968. It was one of the few times the band performed together since breaking up following the death of drummer Bonham in 1980. Pete Townshend is defining just 'who' he is in a new autobiography he is calling the most truthful thing he has ever done. Townshend is best known as the lead guitarist for the rock band "The Who" and was named one of the greatest guitar players of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. In the book, the 67-year-old tackles issues ranging from life on the road, alcoholism and his admission of attraction to Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger. "Who I Am" was released on October 8th. United States pop star Lady Gaga received the LennonOno Grant For Peace award from Yoko Ono at a ceremony in the Iceland on Tuesday (October 9). Lady Gaga was awarded the prize together with Russian feminist punk band Pussy Riot whose members have been jailed over an anti-Kremlin protest.
