Love me Do turns 50

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: The first single released by the Beatles, "Love me Do" celebrated its 50th anniversary on Friday (October 5). "Love Me Do" only reached number 17 in the UK music charts in 1962 but marked The Beatles' breakthrough into the music industry. Beatles producer George Martin told the BBC the song was the "best of a bad bunch".
