Ex-prosecutor claims O.J. Simpson attorney tampered with glove.

It was seen by many as the key moment in O.J. Simpson's murder trial some 17 years ago. The former football star fails to get his hand into a glove that the prosecution said linked Simpson to the double murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. His defense attorney Johnnie Cochran famously told the jury "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit." . Simpson walked away a free man. Now former prosecutor Christopher Darden alleges that the lead defense lawyer tampered with a crucial piece of evidence. (SOUNDBITE) (English) FORMER SIMPSON PROSECUTOR CHRISTOPHER DARDEN , SAYING: "What I think happened is that the defense manipulated the glove so it did not appear to look as if it fit. " A civil jury in 1997 found Simpson liable for the deaths and ordered him to pay $33.5 million in damages to the murder victims' families. Simpson is currently serving up to 33 years in prison for a 2007 armed robbery in which he claimed he was trying to recover his own sports memorabilia.Auteur: reutersTags: attorney years defense tampered glove Deborah from trial away Ex-prosecutor Gepost: 08 september 2012Beoordeling: 0.0Stemmen: 0]]>
