Three year prison sentence for hit and run case

EDITORS PLEASE NOTE: CONTAINS GRAPHIC MATERIAL PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS CONVERTED 4:3 MATERIAL A Chinese court sentenced 25 year old Hu Jun to three-and-a-half years in prison for the hit and run death of a two-year-old girl last year. The case caused an international outcry when video of Hu crushing the girl with his van, and of several on-lookers who ignored her, went viral on the internet. Hu was convicted of 'involuntary homicide' according to the state run Xinhua news agency said. Eighteen pedestrians and cyclists were seen passing her bleeding body before someone finally moved her to the side of the road and tried to alert her parents. Yue was taken to hospital but died of brain failure days later. The court said Hu's sentence was lenient because he turned himself in and paid part of the child's medical expenses, Xinhua reported.
