Lindsay Lohan cleared; Oprah highest paid

A spokesman for Lohan issued a statement that the actress is glad to have the matter cleared up and is focusing on her upcoming projects. Her new television network is struggling, but Oprah Winfrey's bank account is doing just fine, according to financial website, which named the talk show queen as the highest paid celebrity for the fourth straight year. Winfrey has failed to find major success with joint venture partner Discovery Communications on the OWN network, but her ownership in syndicated TV shows such as "Dr. Phil," "Rachael Ray," "The Dr. Oz Show" and other media products enabled her to earn an estimated 165 million between May 2011 and May 2012. As Venice prepares to host its 69th Film Festival all eyes are on and impressive and eclectic list of films. The competition line-up of 18 movies has won early praise from critics. Robert Redford, Rachel McAdams and Ben Affleck are among the big draws doing the rounds of interviews and photo-shoots to promote their movies. The Los Angeles coroner's office said their investigation in to the death of filmmaker Tony Scott may take up to a month or more, as they await toxicology and other test results. The "Top Gun" director jumped to his death from a Los Angeles bridge last week. Scott's body has reportedly been cremated.
