Syrians rebels attack army convoy

**PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS GRAPHIC MATERIAL** Rebel fighters attack the Syrian army near the Turkish border. Amateur video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters, showed a military convoy coming under heavy fire. Rebel fighters said the convey was travelling to take over the northern frontier gate of Bab al-Hawa. As fighting ensued, rebels appeared to win the battle. Army tanks burned while rebels celebrated their victory. Nearby, soldiers lay dead at the side of the road. In the nearby town of Idlib, locals threw sweets at rebels parading military vehicles. Bab al-Hawa is a vital commercial crossing for traffic heading over the Turkish border. As the 17-month-old conflict continues, the U.N. estimates that more than 18,000 people have lost their lives.
