(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) ELDERLY RESIDENT OF KAFARANBEL UMM MOHAMMAD, SAYING: ''What happened is that the airplanes came and bombarded us and killed us and destroyed our homes and then left. What can we do? Our fridge is destroyed, our pots are destroyed, our mattresses are gone. We have nowhere to go and our neighbors are the same, no one can help out.'' The uprising in Syria which began last March has already claimed more than 18,000 lives. For many of the survivors, they no longer have a place called home.
