Nora Ephron dies at 71, Bieber tops charts

Nora Ephron has died at age 71. The screenwriter was best known for her romantic comedies including "When Harry Met Sally" and "Sleepless in Seattle." She earned three Oscar nominations over her lengthy career - including one for 1983's "Silkwood." She had been battling leukemia. Justin Bieber's album "Believe" scored the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 374,000 copies in its first week. It's Bieber's fourth album to clinch the top spot - it's also the largest release this year and his highest sales debut ever. Rihanna was among 300 people evacuated from a London hotel after an early-morning fire in an elevator shaft. The singer tweeted that she was roaming the streets after being forced to leave the Corinthia Hotel at 6 a.m. There were no reports of injuries. Finally, Katy Perry walked a pink carpet in Hollywood to premiere her new 3-D concert documentary, "Katy Perry: Part of Me." She also gave a treat to thousands of screaming fans on Hollywood Boulevard with an outdoor concert, singing some of her biggest hits. The film hits theaters on July 05. Bob Mezan, Reuters.
