Slash rips Lebanon

Slash rocks the ruins. Thousands of fans gathered in Byblos to hear the axeman make his Lebanon debut. In 2009, the former Guns N' Roses band member was named by Time magazine as the second greatest electric guitarist of all time. Fans say it was good to see young people interested in music from an older generation of rock. SOUNDBITE: Unknown, fan, saying (Arabic): "It was one of the best concerts this year, this is the first time they come to Lebanon and everyone is so excited. It's a novelty to see the young generation interested in such songs and Slash, it was very nice, it was amazing." Every year the coastal city, hosts a summer music festival that features performances by renowned international and local artists. The Byblos International Festival runs until July 25.
