Water water everywhere - and mud

ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION A clean up began in areas in northern England affected by heavy rains and flooding on Saturday (June 23). Up to 500 homes and businesses were flooded in Lancashire and West Yorkshire after a month's worth of rain fell in 24 hours. A hairdresser whose business had flooded said little was done to safeguard against the deluge. "It annoys me to think they knew that this was going to happen and they did nothing to mitigate the problem. It's just a joke," said Barry Greenwood. There are several severe weather warnings in place across the north of the country. Revellers at the Isle of Wight festival in southern England were forced to pitch their tents in muddy marshland and wade through mud to get around this weekend.
