Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, a blogger who had spent 15 months in prison for criticizing the government, was granted an early release today by the supreme court but will not be able to travel abroad without special permission for another nine months, until the period of his two-year jail sentence is over. “We are relieved by Hajiyev's release, but he should not have spent a single day in prison and we call for the remaining restrictions on his movements to be lifted immediately,” Reporters Without (...)
