Explosions kill 17 in Aleppo

WARNING - EDIT CONTAINS GRAPHIC IMAGES Shattered concrete, blood and bodies. Syrian state tv reported that at least 17 soldiers and civilians were killed here in Aleppo, in what they say were "terrorist explosions" The attacks apparently targeted a branch of military intelligence and a security force base. The opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights quoted residents as saying three blasts occurred, one near a security forces building, and that gunfire was heard. Aleppo is Syria's commercial hub and had been relatively quiet during the 11-month uprising against Bashar al-Assad's rule, but has seen increasing protests and violence in recent weeks.
