Daniel Radcliffe is out to scare

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Daniel Radcliffe is hitting the big screen in his first role since the wildly successful "Harry Potter" film series ended. The 22-year-old actor is starring in the new supernatural thriller "The Woman in Black." In a true departure for his boy wizard character, Radcliffe plays a grieving widowed attorney who is struggling to keep his career alive. His character, Arthur Kipps, is asked to go to a remote village to tie-up loose ends a peculiar woman that recently died. Once in town Kipps learns that the residents of the village are keeping a massive secret and that the ghost of his deceased client is on a mission to reclaim a missing part of her life. Radcliffe first read the script mere hours after stepping off the set of the last Harry Potter film and said he had no doubts about taking the role. "It was actually a very, very easy choice after I read it, like I knew that this is what I wanted to do next. And there was no question for me, it's a fantastic script, I was so excited to be involved with a film that would genuinely scare people, that felt like a lot of fun," Radcliffe told Reuters. After 10 years of playing Potter, the actor said the roles he is receiving couldn't be further from the boy that made him a house hold name. "The Woman in Black" will be released in U.S. theaters on February 3rd.
