Gervais says everyone's a target at Golden Globes

British comedian Ricky Gervais, who upset some Hollywood stars and others with his biting wit as host of last year's Golden Globe Awards, has promised his emcee gig this year would not be toned down. Gervais said that his third time hosting the Hollywood awards would not be dull or censored despite criticism that his jokes last year were mean-spirited and fell flat. SOUNDBITE: Ricky Gervais, saying (English): "I thought Hollywood Foreign Press would be a bit of a challenge, you know. It's their party as well. If they don't want me to host their party, that's fine, no hard feelings. But they've got to know that I'm going to do the same again." Gervais has again promised the upcoming hosting gig at the Globes would be his last and joked about the upside of taking the job. SOUNDBITE: Ricky Gervais, saying (English): "I hosted the Golden Globes for the first time because, well for one, it's a huge world audience, an amazing opportunity to end your career in one fell swoop. That's all I do these days, things that could possibly be the end of my career." The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards will broadcast live on January 15 from Los Angeles. Lindsay Claiborn, Reuters.
