RuPaul to Republicans: "Don't be a drag".

Drag queen RuPaul crashes New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation primary scene Saturday. On the campaign trail he makes it clear he should not be confused with the 76-year-old Presidential hopeful Congressman Ron Paul. The singer, actor, reality TV star and the first drag queen supermodel had a message. (SOUNDBITE) (English) RUPAUL SAYING: "This is not a cheap publicity stunt. I flew here first class on American." Many in the crowd were aware of comments made Thursday in New Hampshire by Republican contender Rick Santorum, who compared same-sex marriage to polygamy. (SOUNDBITE) (English) DINER CUSTOMER TELLING RUPAUL: "You should run because seeing you and Santorum in a political debate together would be hilarious." (SOUNDBITE) (English) RUPAUL SAYING: "You know I'm really not a political person by nature. But I do believe that every time a man puts on a pussycat wig and a pair of cha cha heels, he's making a political statement. And really this country is all about freedom. Live free or die, that's what I say." As RuPaul left, many of the crowd headed-off for mimosas at a nearby bar, preparing for a gay pride rally and march later in the day.
