Republican campaign heats up

Mitt Romney - on the campaign trail in the American state of New Hampshire. The former governor has emerged as frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination. He called on supporters to turn out in force on Tuesday during New Hampshire's pivotal primary election. REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE MITT ROMNEY: "I know some pollsters say I'm doing real well. I tell you those polls, they could just disappear overnight. What you say to a pollster is a bit like going on a date. It's like, "Well, I might try this but you know what, getting married, that's something else." The vote on Tuesday will be the second in the drawn out process to choose a Republican leader. Romney won the first last week, surging to the front of the presidential pack. Newt Gingrich, another contender and former Speaker of the House, also took to the stump, promising wholesale change in Washington. Rick Santorum, who finished second to Romney in the Iowa caucuses last week, also made a weekend appeal to voters, calling on them to be "bold" in their nominee for president. Andrew Raven, Reuters
