Jonathan Ames Saddened by the Rise of eBooks The Graduate Center, CUNY - Prohansky Auditorium With the rise of the e-book, the collapse of Borders, and the changing nature of bookselling, what is the future of that neighborhood fixture, the great independent bookstore? Literary agent Eric Simonoff, co-head of the book department at WME Entertainment, will host a freewheeling conversation with two successful and beloved booksellers in New York City, each of whom will bring along an author closely associated with their store. Featuring Jonathan Ames, author of The Extra Man and Wake Up, Sir and creator of the hit HBO series Bored to Death; Simon Van Booy, author of The Secret Lives of People in Love and Love Begins in Winter, winner of the Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award; Sarah McNally, owner of McNally Jackson Books; and Zack Zook, general manager of BookCourt.
