International news media should temporarily stop sending women reporters to cover the demonstrations in Tahrir Square, Reporters Without Borders said today after Caroline Sinz, a French reporter for public TV station France 3, yesterday became the latest female journalist to be sexually assaulted while covering unrest in Cairo this year. “This is at least the third time a woman reporter has been sexually assaulted since the start of the Egyptian revolution,” Reporters Without Borders said.
