Clooney talks world affairs on the red carpet.

George Clooney added star power to the London Film Festival premiere of his new political thriller, "The Ides of March." The 50-year-old Hollywood heavyweight acts in and directs in the film. His co-star Ryan Gosling plays an idealistic young press secretary to Clooney's governor, Mike Morris. Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman plays Clooney's campaign manager while Evan Rachel Wood takes a turn as an intern on Morris' campaign trail. No stranger to political affairs, Clooney turned his attention to the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations, which he says he supports. SOUNDBITE George Clooney, on the Occupy Wall Street movement, saying (English): "It'll be an interesting time. We sort of have it bubbling up in the ground in the United States right now and it's interesting. I like when that happens. I like it when we get to hear -- right now, 95 per cent of the people with the most money win elections." The film has been garnering Oscar buzz since it premiered at the Venice and Toronto film festivals earlier this year. John Russell, Reuters.
