Milan - We have received no information of any investigation being carried out by the Iraqi authorities against the perpetrators of the massacre of emo boys and young gay men in Baghdad.
In early March, dozens of young followers of the emo style were tortured, beaten and stoned to death in Iraq for a choice of lifestyle that is not just aesthetic and musical (emo music is a subgenre of punk rock), but also inspired by sentiments of existential melancholy.
Singled out by the Mullahs as "enemies of God" the young Iraqis were executed in the streets by the Shiite militia known as the "Anger Brigades".
The Shiite gangs have also carried out a slaughter of young gay men in Baghdad. The victims were arrested based on rumours, or because of the clothing they wear, a look the Shiites consider unmanly.
The young people, most of them teenagers, were hunted down, immobilized, tortured and then executed by smashing their skulls in with heavy concrete blocks.
EveryOne Group has sent a complaint to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the EU Commissioner for Human Rights and the Iraqi authorities to ensure that the assassins are arrested and sent to trial, and that the young emo community and the LGBT community are protected by the authorities against the barbaric manhunt that religious leaders have unleashed against its members.
